French hospitals have been instructed to prepare for an approaching war in Europe.

According to documents obtained by Le Canard Enchaîné and reported by the British Daily Mail, the French Ministry of Health has instructed healthcare institutions across the country to prepare for a possible “major conflict” by March 2026.

The French government envisions a scenario where the country would become a support state, capable of admitting a large number of wounded soldiers from France and other European countries.

This order aims to “anticipate, prepare for, and respond to the health needs of the population while integrating the specific needs of defense within the health sector.”

The Ministry of Health added, “Therefore, among the identified risks is the hypothesis of a major conflict where the health issue would be caring for a potentially high number of wounded from abroad. Consequently, anticipating the care of military patients within the civilian health system is a challenge for our health system.”

This decision comes after German Chief of General Staff Carsten Breuer announced that NATO and his country’s armed forces would be on alert ahead of Russian military exercises.

Breuer stated that he does not expect Russian forces to attack NATO territory while Russia and Belarus conduct military training as part of the Zapad 2025 exercise, but that his country would be “on guard.”

Breuer said, “There is no indication that an attack is being prepared under the guise of an exercise. But not only German forces, but NATO as well, will be on guard.”
