{"id":11495,"date":"2025-09-18T13:58:32","date_gmt":"2025-09-18T10:58:32","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2025-09-18T13:58:32","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T10:58:32","slug":"us-russian-parliaments-may-hold-joint-meeting-to-discuss-ufos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harici.com.tr\/en\/us-russian-parliaments-may-hold-joint-meeting-to-discuss-ufos\/","title":{"rendered":"US, Russian parliaments may hold joint meeting to discuss UFOs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-spacing=\"double\">Anna Paulina Luna, a Republican member of the US Congress and head of the Federal Secrecy Disclosure Task Force, stated that Congress is preparing to organize a meeting with members of the Russian parliament to discuss unidentified flying objects (UFOs).<\/p>\n<p data-spacing=\"double\">Appearing last week on the NewsNation channel with <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" spellcheck=\"false\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/WjM7sEbH7Os?t=228\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">host<\/a><\/span> Chris Cuomo, Luna said, &#8220;We look forward to having a bipartisan meeting with [members of] the Russian parliament soon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-spacing=\"double\">Luna stated that she had &#8220;recently&#8221; contacted representatives of the Russian Federation government to ask if they had any information to share on the subject.<\/p>\n<p data-spacing=\"double\">However, the congresswoman did not provide details about the format, date, or location of the potential meeting.<\/p>\n<p data-spacing=\"double\">Neither the US Congress nor the Russian parliament, the Duma, has publicly confirmed that such talks are taking place.<\/p>\n<p data-spacing=\"double\"><strong>Soviet research from the Cold War era on the agenda<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-spacing=\"double\">Luna&#8217;s statements came just before a <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" spellcheck=\"false\" href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/George-Knapp-Written-Testimony.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">hearing<\/a><\/span> on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) scheduled for September 9 by the House Oversight Subcommittee.<\/p>\n<p data-spacing=\"double\">During these hearings, KLAS-TV reporter and investigative journalist George Knapp claimed that the USSR had attempted to comprehensively study UFO evidence during the Cold War, conducting special research for this purpose from at least 1978 to 1988.<\/p>\n<p data-spacing=\"double\">According to Knapp, based on &#8220;documents and interviews&#8221; he obtained in Russia in 1993, the USSR Ministry of Defense collected &#8220;thousands of reports in an effort to understand the nature of the technologies displayed by UFOs (unpredictable movements, maneuverability, and sudden turns).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-spacing=\"double\">Previously, Luna&#8217;s office <a spellcheck=\"false\" href=\"https:\/\/ria.ru\/20250906\/rossija-2040122874.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">had informed<\/span>\u00a0<\/a><em>RIA Novosti<\/em>\u00a0that preparations were underway for a parliamentary meeting between the US and Russia in a &#8220;neutral zone&#8221; but did not specify the topic of the meeting.<\/p>\n<p data-spacing=\"double\">Russian parliamentarians had also mentioned the possibility of negotiations with their American counterparts following the August 15 meeting in Alaska between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p data-spacing=\"double\">Hearings on UFOs have been ongoing in the US Congress for several years.
