The Israeli government has hired the conservative-leaning Clock Tower X for a $6 million contract to create media content for Gen Z audiences.<\/p>\n

At least 80% of the content Clock Tower will produce will be “exclusive to Gen Z audiences across platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, podcasts, and other relevant digital and broadcast channels,” with a target of at least 50 million monthly impressions.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Responsible Statecraft<\/em><\/a><\/span>, Clock Tower will even use “websites and content to deliver GPT framing results in GPT conversations.” In other words, Clock Tower will create new websites to influence how AI GPT models like ChatGPT, which are trained on vast amounts of data collected from every corner of the internet, frame and respond to topics\u2014and it will do all this on behalf of Israel.<\/p>\n

As part of this effort, the company will also use the search engine optimization software MarketBrew AI, a predictive artificial intelligence platform that helps clients adapt to algorithms and promote their work on search engines like Google and Bing, to “improve the visibility and ranking of relevant narratives.”<\/p>\n

Clock Tower will integrate its pro-Israel messages into the affiliates of Salem Media Network, a conservative Christian media group with a large radio network that produces high-profile programs such as the\u00a0Hugh Hewitt Show<\/em>, the\u00a0Larry Elder Show<\/em>, and\u00a0Right View with Lara Trump<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In April, the conservative media network announced Donald Trump Jr. and Lara Trump as significant shareholders in the company.<\/p>\n

Salem Media Network did not respond to a question about whether it would be compensated by Clock Tower for promoting messages on behalf of Israel or how those messages would be integrated.<\/p>\n

Brad Parscale, the consultant and former Trump campaign manager who hired the controversial Cambridge Analytica during Trump’s 2016 election campaign, is at the center of the Israeli government’s new deal. Clock Tower is managed by Parscale, who is the new chief strategy officer of Salem Media Group.<\/p>\n

Clock Tower does not provide much information in its contract about what kind of messages will be promoted on behalf of Israel. According to its filing under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, Clock Tower was hired to “conduct a nationwide campaign in the US to combat antisemitism.”<\/p>\n

The official overseeing the contract is Eran Shayovich, director-general of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to Shayovich’s LinkedIn profile, he is managing a campaign called “Project 545,” which aims to “strengthen Israel’s strategic communication and public diplomacy efforts.”<\/p>\n

Clock Tower’s efforts will target a segment of the American public that has sharply cut its support for Israel. A Gallup poll conducted in July revealed that only 9% of Americans aged 18-34 support Israel’s military activities in Gaza.<\/p>\n

Clock Tower will also prepare an “initial cultural, demographic, and sentiment research report” for Israel within 30 days. Another American company, Stagwell Global, recently conducted a similar poll for the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Although the results were much more favorable for Israel compared to other polls, the survey, which was leaked to\u00a0Drop Site<\/em>, still revealed that 47% of Americans believe Israel is committing genocide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
