Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s name has re-emerged in the context of an agreement the US is trying to impose in Palestine under the name “Peace Council.”<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Al-Akhbar<\/em>\u00a0newspaper reported<\/a><\/span> that this agreement essentially aims to impose a new mandate administration on the region.<\/p>\n

According to the report, Blair, a constant partner in US wars in the region, is ready not only for tasks in Palestine but for other missions as well.<\/p>\n

According to information obtained by the newspaper, Blair is preparing to visit Beirut next week.<\/p>\n

Blair is expected to be accompanied by a delegation whose identity and nationality are not yet known, though it is speculated that his team of experts who assisted him on the Gaza file may be included.<\/p>\n

Blair on his way to Beirut<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sources familiar with the matter said, “Blair will meet with all three leaders, but the appointments have not yet been set.” The purpose of the visit and the message Blair carries are still unknown.<\/p>\n

However, some circles assess that Blair could later be tasked with “overseeing the implementation of a new mandate plan intended to be imposed on Lebanon, similar to the one in Gaza.”<\/p>\n

These circles link the visit to American statements about the future of Lebanon’s southern border.<\/p>\n

Specifically, the project to “establish a civil council to manage the affairs of the southern region,” which the Americans claim they want to transform into an economic, tourist, industrial, and agricultural investment zone, is at the center of these allegations.<\/p>\n

Israeli pressure on the Lebanese government<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to leaked information, the Israeli government is pressuring the US administration to cut its support for the government in Lebanon.<\/p>\n

Tel Aviv frequently states that the Lebanese government “is not serious about fulfilling its commitments, as seen in the issue of Hezbollah’s weapons.”<\/p>\n

According to Israel, President Joseph Aoun’s statements about his willingness for indirect negotiations are “an effort to buy time for Hezbollah’s benefit, which cannot be tolerated for long.”<\/p>\n

Until yesterday, all indicators reaching Lebanon suggested that Israel had decided to escalate tensions, and the situation was alarming.<\/p>\n

Reports that Hezbollah is rebuilding its strength and repairing its military capabilities support this view. This information, combined with Blair’s potential visit to Beirut, has reinforced concerns that a major military operation could be in preparation against both Hezbollah and the state in Lebanon.<\/p>\n

The operation’s objective is said to be forcing both sides to back down, surrender, and accept the Lebanese version of the Trump plan, which includes the idea of an international delegation overseen by Blair.<\/p>\n

President Aoun proposes a new name for negotiations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Faced with these threats, the Lebanese government is trying to emphasize its intention to negotiate in order to control a potential escalation.<\/p>\n

Although President Joseph Aoun constantly confirms this intention within his circles, neither the form nor the framework of the negotiations has been clarified. In Lebanon, there is only a consensus on the general principle of negotiation.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, sources familiar with the matter revealed that “President Aoun has identified some names to represent him in any future negotiation delegation, including Paul Salem, the President of the Middle East Institute in Washington.”<\/p>\n

Circles close to Aoun noted that Salem is not just a technocrat or an expert, questioning whether a final decision has been made to elevate the delegation’s level of representation to include politicians.<\/p>\n
