A Hezbollah delegation was in T\u00fcrkiye, where Ankara is mediating between Damascus and the resistance.<\/p>\n

Ammar al-Moussawi, a Hezbollah parliamentarian and the official responsible for the Lebanese resistance’s international relations, participated in a conference in T\u00fcrkiye over the weekend.<\/p>\n

The visit coincided with diplomatic traffic conducted by Ankara between Hezbollah and Syria’s new administration.<\/p>\n

According to Arabi21<\/em>, T\u00fcrkiye conveyed<\/a><\/span> messages aimed at de-escalating tensions and ensuring that the parties do not take steps against each other.<\/p>\n

Sensitive contact between Damascus and Hezbollah<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the newspaper El-Modon<\/em>, T\u00fcrkiye has positioned itself as a key mediator between Syria, Iran, and Hezbollah. Ankara’s priority at the table is to assure Hezbollah that the Damascus administration will not target it.<\/p>\n

In return, Hezbollah and Iran are being asked not to support elements opposed to Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.<\/p>\n

Among the guarantees Ankara seeks is that no activities will be carried out against the new administration in sensitive areas, particularly Syria’s coastal strip.<\/p>\n

Conference participants described the meeting as a reconstruction of a common regional will against the Israeli occupation.<\/p>\n

It was emphasized that the meeting was part of an effort to strengthen coordination among resistance movements against fragmentation in the region.<\/p>\n

Positive atmosphere in talks and a single mediator<\/strong><\/p>\n

The newspaper Nidaa al-Watan<\/em> reported<\/a><\/span> that Ankara recently brought together a high-level Hezbollah official and a senior figure from the Syrian government.<\/p>\n

A source familiar with the matter told the newspaper that the parties addressed extremely sensitive issues, but the outcome of the meeting appeared positive.<\/p>\n

The source shared the following details about the content of the negotiations:<\/p>\n

“The talks focused on restructuring Damascus’s relations with both Tehran and Hezbollah and readjusting these relationships to serve the interests of all three parties without disrupting the understandings currently being established.”<\/p>\n

Stating that T\u00fcrkiye is well-versed in the details and has taken facilitating steps for the talks to occur, the source noted that other Arab countries were not involved in the process.<\/p>\n

SSNP’s participation creates a crisis within the party<\/strong><\/p>\n

During his visit to T\u00fcrkiye, Moussawi was accompanied by Maher al-Danna, the media officer for the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP).<\/p>\n

The party, which advocates for the idea of a “Greater Syria” that includes Lebanon and is based in Lebanon, is known for its proximity to Hezbollah. The party’s founder, Antoun Saadeh, was executed by the Lebanese government in 1949.<\/p>\n

A source from the SSNP told The Cradle<\/em> that the participation of a party member in the “Jerusalem Adherence” conference held in T\u00fcrkiye caused shock and anger among them.<\/p>\n

The source said, “Our leader Antoun Saadeh was one of the first to draw attention to the threat T\u00fcrkiye poses to our region.”<\/p>\n

The party’s base describes Ankara’s policies in Syria and the region as expansionist and opposes its relations with Israel.<\/p>\n

Hezbollah has been actively involved on the ground alongside the former Syrian government since the early years of the Syrian war. The organization was instrumental in retaking some areas from groups like the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Nusra Front and Ahrar al-Sham.<\/p>\n

The Nusra Front later changed its name to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).<\/p>\n

HTS stands out as the entity that overthrew the administration of former Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad in 2024 and still holds influence over the Syrian Ministry of Defense.<\/p>\n

This Al-Qaeda-affiliated group controlled Lebanon’s northern and eastern border regions in the early stages of the war but was expelled from the area in 2017 by Hezbollah and the Lebanese army.<\/p>\n

The Nusra Front, led by Ahmed al-Sharaa, has been held responsible for numerous bombings and assassinations in Lebanon, including in Beirut.<\/p>\n

The negotiation table with Israel<\/strong><\/p>\n

Diplomatic traffic has accelerated amid Israel’s ongoing attacks on Lebanon. The Tel Aviv administration is threatening to launch a large-scale war against Lebanon if Hezbollah does not disarm immediately.<\/p>\n

The US Special Representative for Syria, Tom Barrack, recently announced that the Syrian government would join Washington’s efforts to neutralize Hezbollah.<\/p>\n

Israel claims that despite the weakening of its supply lines following the fall of the Assad government, the Lebanese resistance is still trying to smuggle weapons through Syria.<\/p>\n

While the Damascus administration frequently announces that it is preventing arms shipments to Hezbollah, Lebanese officials deny the smuggling allegations.<\/p>\n

In recent months, direct negotiations are reported to have been held between the Ahmed al-Sharaa government and Israel. Barrack announced in September that a Syrian-Israeli security agreement was nearly complete.<\/p>\n

It is suggested that one of the key elements of a potential agreement in the now-stalled talks is intelligence sharing.<\/p>\n

According to the Israeli press, this cooperation includes joint action against the “Axis of Resistance,” targeting Iran and Hezbollah.<\/p>\n
