{"id":4169,"date":"2024-04-24T15:58:17","date_gmt":"2024-04-24T12:58:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/harici.com.tr\/en\/?p=4169"},"modified":"2024-04-24T15:58:17","modified_gmt":"2024-04-24T12:58:17","slug":"russian-deputy-defence-minister-ivanov-arrested-on-bribery-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/harici.com.tr\/en\/russian-deputy-defence-minister-ivanov-arrested-on-bribery-charges\/","title":{"rendered":"Russian deputy defence minister Ivanov arrested on bribery charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Russian Investigative Committee has reported that Deputy Defence Minister Timur Ivanov has been detained on suspicion of taking bribes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Russian Deputy Defence Minister Timur Vladimirovich Ivanov has been detained on suspicion of committing a crime under Article 290, paragraph 6 (bribery) of the Russian Criminal Code,&#8221; the committee said in a written statement.<\/p>\n<p>Committee spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko said the necessary investigation into the incident was under way.<\/p>\n<p>A law enforcement source told the <em>Interfax<\/em> agency that Ivanov would soon be referred to court for arrest.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: &#8216;Russian President Vladimir Putin has been informed that Deputy Defence Minister Timur Ivanov has been detained. Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu was also informed earlier,&#8221; Peskov said.<\/p>\n<p>The relevant article of the Criminal Code contains a charge of &#8216;large-scale bribery&#8217;.
