According to the army’s statement, the Technological and Logistics Directorate provided insulated structures and living equipment to soldiers serving in the harsh winter conditions of the mountain. One of the constructed structures was a medical building equipped to treat cold-weather injuries. In addition, generators, heaters, winter clothes, and snowshoes were delivered to the military units.<\/p>\n
In its statement, the army claimed that the deployment of these outposts in the buffer zone on the Syrian side of the border and beyond strategic points was a defensive and temporary measure.<\/p>\n
Following the escalation of hostilities in Syria on November 27, the Israeli army’s attacks on the country increased, coinciding with the challenges to the Ba’athist government on December 8. The Israeli army began targeting military infrastructure and facilities left by the Syrian army and expanded its presence in the Syrian Golan Heights. Entering the buffer zone around the Golan Heights, the Israeli army extended its reach further, up to 20 kilometers from Damascus.<\/p>\n
