The United States manages to keep the Venezuelan plane that was kidnapped in Argentina since 2022
With the confiscation of the Venezuelan aircraft, the United States violates not only International Conventions, but also attacks the Barbados Agreements, signed between the Bolivarian Government and the opposition. Will this affect presidential elections in Venezuela? Argentina makes clear its total surrender to the imperialist and supremacist dictates of the United States and Israel.
This February 5, a completely illuminating episode occurred, which has not left room for the slightest shadow of doubt: the fascist government of Javier Milei, less than 60 days after arriving at the Casa Rosada, has lost the little respect it had for the State, democracy and international law.
On the aforementioned day, after having obtained the corresponding permission from the authorities of the Argentine National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) and the Argentine Airport Security Police Control Post (PSA), a Venezuelan diplomat managed to verify that the plane of the Venezuelan company Transporte Cargo del Sur (Emtrasur), seized by the Argentine authorities at the request of the United States in June 2022, was still at the Ezeiza International Airport. Everything was going as expected, the official taking photos to inform the Embassy and the Venezuelan government about the status of the aircraft, until – in a matter of minutes – the orders changed. Now the same diplomat was an enemy agent, a spy and even a terrorist.
Where did these new instructions come from? Why did they want to arrest a Venezuelan diplomat who was duly identified and authorized? Why is the media trying to misinform and link this routine event to Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran? Did they perhaps want to build a new Alex Saab to continue putting pressure on Venezuela?
It is clear that behind this new imperial show against Venezuela are the United States and Israel, historical allies, ultimately specialists in interference and theft, but, in particular, there is a government whose leader suffers from messianic delirium that has made a bigger spectacle of itself. -due to the implausibility of his sayings and actions- during his visit to Israel and in the occupied Palestinian territories. Javier Milei, who already considered himself “God’s chosen one”, now wants to be the Argentine Moses, but his god serves in Washington and Tel Aviv. The truth is that we have seen him cry in the Holy Land what he has not cried in Argentina, a land devastated by his shock economic policy. There is no doubt that the surrender of the maximum reference of La Libertad Avanza (Freedom Advances) to the United States and Israel, its examples to follow in “the free world”, is total and absolute.
The Venezuelan government has fought a tough asymmetric battle, always within the Argentine Justice and International Law, since the Argentine authorities retained the Boeing 747-300 (YV3531), in June 2022, under accusations of being used for intelligence operations between Caracas and Tehran. The aircraft previously belonged to the Iranian company Mahan Air, which had acquired it from a French airline. Venezuela managed to get the 19 crew members of the aircraft (15 Venezuelans and 4 Iranians) authorized to leave the South American country, since all attempts to link them with the Islamic Republic, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc. failed; simply because there is no relationship between these people and the attacks on the Israeli Embassy and the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA), which occurred in Buenos Aires, in 1992 and 1994, respectively.
It is true that the Jewish community and the Zionist lobby are very strong and important in Argentina, a country that is home to the largest community of Jews in Latin America and the Caribbean. It is also true that the lack of those responsible for the attacks against the Israeli Embassy and the AMIA (to date there are no culprits), in what has been classified as “the most complex cases in the judicial history of Argentina”, exponentially increases the pressure on the Argentine government when it comes to Iran, the nuclear enemy most feared by the State of Israel, and perhaps by the United States itself. The above has raised criticism of the Intelligence Services (along with the Security forces), and of the Argentine Judiciary itself.
In that sense, the questions that fall on the Argentine Judicial System, and a weak government like that of Alberto Fernández (2019-2023), have been the perfect cocktail so that with the kidnapping, two years ago, and the recent seizure of the plane Venezuelan, various sectors of power seek to congratulate themselves with Argentine society and public opinion, and, especially, with the Jewish community.
The United States, for its part, did not miss the opportunity to exercise its role as an imperial power and to have two cooperationist governments in the southern country – one because it was inefficient and lacked leadership, the other because it was aligned and inspired by American ideology and values, to hit at the same time two objectives of its interventionist policy. Thus, only the quick and accurate action of the Bolivarian Diplomatic Mission in Buenos Aires prevented the Venezuelan diplomat from being caught between two fires, like more collateral damage.
It is worth saying that the Argentine media were already preparing a special, easily digestible dish for the national and international public that does not skimp on demonstrations of hatred against “the Venezuelan regime” and Iran, recurring “scapegoats” for everything that is wrong in the world. From a fire to a magnicide, Venezuela and Iran will always be responsible. It is curious that even so-called “investigative journalism” reaches the same conclusions, without evidence.
Unfortunately, all diplomatic attempts could not prevent, in the early hours of this Monday, February 12, United States agents from confiscating the Venezuelan aircraft, in what for the Bolivarian Government represents “a theft or misappropriation” and a violation of the Barbados Agreement, signed on said Caribbean island for the promotion of political rights and electoral guarantees in Venezuela. We cannot yet know how this fact may impact the agreements and the electoral process underway. However, it is a new example of imperial interventionist force by the United States within the framework of the unilateral coercive measures (erroneously called “sanctions”) that it applies against the Bolivarian Republic and the Islamic Republic.
Meanwhile in Argentina, where the Venezuelan community residing in the southern country occupies third place, surpassed only by the historical communities of immigrants from the neighboring countries of Paraguay and Bolivia (2022 Census), these accusations with no evidence or basis in reality place the Venezuelan Diplomatic Mission in the crosshairs of different types of reprisals and attacks. Hence, said Mission publicly expressed that the media try to “manipulate public opinion, incite hatred and criminalize the function that Bolivarian diplomats fulfill with dignity,” and also warned that the physical and moral integrity of Venezuelan diplomats in the country are at risk.
Argentina, where a false freedom advances, has handed over its independence and sovereignty to the United States and Israel. Javier Milei’s idea of Make Argentina Great Again, inspired by the phrase popularized by Donald Trump in his 2016 electoral campaign, Make America Great Again (MAGA), actually involves handing over the southern country to the interests of these two imperialist powers and supremacists. What is really advancing in Argentina, a land and a people that are being devastated without the slightest contemplation by the current fascist, ultra-liberal and ultra-conservative government, is the probability of a social implosion, it is the certainty of greater economic instability, as well as of xenophobic, racist acts, and even terrorist attacks.
